The Effect Of COVID-19 On Examination Sector

Effect of covid-19 on examination sector

Due to COVID-19, all the educational institutes and examination authorities have postponed their exams. This major step was taken to minimize the spread of coronavirus. Not only national boards like CBSE ,ICSE, CISCE but universities like DU, IPU, IIT, NIT and many others have taken a back in conducting their exams. Major recruitment boards like RRB and SSC have also cancelled the examination indefinitely.

This step was taken to prioritise the health of students. Further our honorable prime minister of the country, Mr. Narendra Modi has locked down the whole nation to curb the spread of COVID-19.

It is indeed a difficult time for all of us. But let’s have an insight on how Covid-19 has affected educational and examination centres.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has directed all the Universities, Institutions,  national boards and the state boards to postpone/delay their exams till the situation gets under control.

They are ordered to conduct exams only after the next order from the government. All the universities, institutions, national and state boards have notified the same message to all the students through the digital mode.

This has also resulted in the extension of all the entrance exams. Now entrance exam dates will be altered accordingly so that students don’t find themselves in a difficult and complicated situation. Educational boards and universities have to decide a pattern keeping in mind the necessary time gap required by a student between two examinations.

Now, let’s have a look how it has impacted students of the country:

Students who were sitting for state boards or national boards haven’t finished their core examination. This implies the delayed results will make situations difficult for them in future. Firstly, they might not get the required time to prepare and plan for their future. Secondly, students need to be notified on regular intervals about the upcoming examinations and admission procedures.

All the aspirants who were giving exams (like CGL, UPSC, IBPs extra) to crack a government job now have to wait till the next notice.

Students or candidates who want to settle abroad and are giving certain exams for the same in their home country. They have to do a lot of hassle because they will be getting limited time to complete the whole procedure.

On the overall level all the students irrespective of their age have suffered due to Covid-19. But they are requested to remain patient. All the boards and universities will be soon sharing their future maps on their online portals. Students can access them and plan accordingly.

As the lockdown extends till 3rd of May, this is proving to be a difficult time but we have to face it. And we can face it together.

So, please keep giving your support to the government to have a perfect balance of peace and harmony.
